Welcome to the official site of the 2013 version of the Moncton Mets baseball club. From it's inception in the early 80's till this years version the Moncton Mets have been providing the fans of the Greater Moncton area exciting baseball and this years version will be no different. We hope to see you out to the newly renovated Kiwanis Park to cheer on your Moncton Mets!

The Moncton Mets have announced that long time area Baseball coach Gerry LeBlanc of Dieppe will be the new head coach of the team.In making the announcement Mets GM Greg Lawlor said with former coach Glenn Burt advising the team in February he could not commit as much time as he would like to this season; the Mets executive and players worked together to come up with possible names. Leblanc who is one of the assistant coaches with New Brunswick’s Canada Games team was approached and the timing was right for him to offer his services to the Mets as he has recently retired from his career with the New Brunswick provincial government.LeBlanc has been involved with the sport for 40 years and his resume is an impressive one having many coaching assignments with New Brunswick's Canada Cup team and this year will be his fifth attendance at the Canada Games. His resume includes guest coach assignments at the Toronto Blue Jays spring training camp in Dunedin Florida and Canada's National Junior team and he is a certified Leaning Facilitator and Coach Evaluator under the National Coaching Certification Program. With the Mets having 3 former junior Cubs in the lineup this year ( OF/P Luc Vautour, IF/OF/P Josh Dewitt and SS/P Justin Cormier) the opportunity to practice and teach the sound fundamentals to the team should pay off with smart baseball being one of the team’s themes for the 2013 campaign. The Mets who have been practicing every Thursday from 8:30-10:30 in the Dundee Sportsdome will continue those workouts as they prepare for the season to begin in a little over 5 weeks time.
